This morning I read my Bloglines, and under Google’s Blog, I saw the latest post on the site was ” Google, fix your blog pleeasssee!”
It looks like Google accidentally deleted their blog, and someone else was able to register it.
“P.s Just to clear things up, I’m not associated with Google” the student said. “I just wanted to take advantage of this before someone else with less worthy intentions did. The username was giving a 404, so I tried registering a new blog with it. Surprisingly, it worked.”
Afterwards in Google’s “And We’re Back” post they explained that the blog was mistakenly deleted by themselves. They restored the files and were back in business…Sorry to the kid that got lucky during the deletion problem.
The post also says that Google was worried that there was a systemwide vulnerabilitiy in Blogger, but then figured out what had happened.
Google really wants everyone to know that “This was not a hack, and nobody guessed our password. Our bad”.
They’ve got to be kidding. I wouldn’t delete my blog by “mistake” in a million years, even if nobody reads it. How can those buggers just delete their blog?
if google hit the wrong the wrong button THE INTERNET would disappear! :P ok not really, but damn close in a lot of people’s minds, one little blog is nothing to accidently misplace now and then lol
