Samsung..
They make nice cell phones, they dominates
memory markets, manufactures all kinds of high
-end consumer products(plasma, etc.)

and they've achieved all these within 15 years
of so.

It is the company to watch closer as the writer of this article metioned.

What's more make Samsung powerfull is their
close relationship with South Korean goverment. When a company works closely with their goverment, rate of the company's growth is pretty fast.

Not very well known, but they do constructions
all over the world as well.
(All that crazy scale construction in Dubai,
lot of 'em doen by Samsung construction.)

I heard, they even make cars locally.

Hold on a second guys, the value you're mentioning is for the consumer market. That number is nothing compared to the price the drives will cost if bought in mass.

Apple has enough money to buy them in the millions of units so the price would be much much cheaper than $3k each. It would probably be too expensive for an iPod at the current prices, but not that more expensive, probably around $1000/$1500.

Given that current 16 GB Flash SSD drives sell for $3,000 a pop, I don't think this is bound for an iPod this year. It *is* the future, but the spinning hard drive isn't due for retirement just yet.
