Apple has just released the 17″ MacBookPro, and it is packing quite a punch. Weighing in at 6.8 pounds, it sports a 17″ display running a native resolution of 1680×1050, powered by a 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with dual link DVI support.

The processor is the 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo coupled with 1GB of RAM. It has 2 Firewire Ports (400 and 800) and 3 USB 2.0 slots. The 8x slot-loading SuperDrive will write dual-layer DVD, as well as read it.
