The biggest threat Microsoft has to open source is not their lawyers, but their money. Eventually MS will do what they did years ago and even today, they will offer open source people lots of money and they will sell out. MS doesn't have to copyrignt the property of the people, they'll just buy it.

and ms makes soo much money that the fines wont even put a dent in there profits (£60+ per copy ffs! and its not like you have a choice to buy it either)

You already can't play movies or mp3's by default on Linux distro's - so the leap isn't that far.

I think that going from:

"I think there are experts who claim Linux violates our intellectual property. I'm not going to comment."

to:

"is it about to go for underhanded tactics such as stop Linux in its tracks with patent lawsuits?"

Is a bit of a mental leap. You might want to ease up on the coffee intake.

It is obvious that Europeans do this not just because it's right thing to do, but also for their own benefit.

However, MS does have very agressive way of doing its business, sometimes very unfair.

Some people are worried and say 'MS has too much of market share.
Actually, it is COMPLETE monopoly, what they got going on. and needs to be handled accordingly.

Yeah well the Europeans are in no position to speak about it considering the number of times they've sued MS for all kinds of ridiculous product bundling stuff. For instance the unbundling of media player from Windowz, which lead beauties such as Windows version N.
