CNet went out and bought a 2Ghz MacBookPro, installed Windows XP, and tested it against a few other notebook computers from Acer and HP with very similar specs. Turns out the MacBookPro was faster on lots of stuff, including running Photoshop. The results were a pretty good indication that the MacBookPro can run XP as well, if not better than other top-of-the-line PC notebooks.

Gaming seems to be where the MacBookPro is lagging right now. However, it is rare that you find a notebook that can run a game full on with the same gusto as a tower. It will be interesting when the PowerMacs get replaced with Core Duo to see how well they run games.
