CE-P, catchy name isn’t it? I’m sure it will storm the stores and instantly become a success… not.

Why?

Well, it appears to be much bulkier than the Nano. It has an uglier, but debatable, appearance and it looks uncomfortable to use.

It features basically the main things of the Nano, MP3 and WMA playback and BMP and JPG viewing.

The price of the 1GB version is basically the same as the 1GB Nano’s. However, there is the small problem that 1GB is actually the maximum capacity announced for these players:

Capacities and prices include the 256MB CE-P13 for about $100, 512MB CE-P15 for about $125, and the 1GB CE-P15 for about $150

I’m sure that they’ll upgrade the sizes in the near future, but the question is… shouldn’t that future be now? How many of you readers would consider buying an MP3 player with a 256MB capacity right now?

I even dare to say that Sony took one step forward with this player, and two steps back (regarding capacity), while Apple took two steps forward in both ways: capacity and features.
