It’s been a while since we’ve had any Anime news, and this one actually comes a few months late. Well, not the source of the article itself, but the date in which Evangelion started, in October of 1995.
If you don’t completely ignore the Anime or Manga scene, there is no doubt that you’ve heard of this very polemic piece.
The “unfinished” ending which everyone criticizes that spawned, the love or hate characters (Rei is a sex goddess in Japan. True.), the great plot which thickened with each episode and the sheer originality of the series which was different from anything else that was out. If Evangelion is meant to be seen by 15 year olds, then it makes Dragonball seem like it should be seen while the baby is still being breast feeded. In any case, this is one of the rare series that put the Anime name on the headlines, and thus it deserves the respect of any self-respected Otaku. So three cheers to Evangelion!
Oh and Gainax, stop milking the cow so much, you know, after ten years you could reduce the price of the DVDs just a bit!

Wow..10 years. Is is that long?
That’s great. I’ve been introduced to Neon Genesis Evangelion when I was in university. And that was just about more than eight years ago. Oh how time flies.

out there as good as Eva.
@Danny – You’d be surprised if you asked around. I’ve been watching anime for the past 4 years and I’ve seen Evangelion being surpassed more than once in various fields, though, there has yet to be an anime as unique as Evangelion. I’ll give it that.

And to think that I only just watched it several months ago. Well, at least I’m old enough to appreciate it now.
10 years strong. Even mo’ years now. about 10 1/2 now. The ending is unfinished but dere’s movies dat finish ‘em, but they’re confusing.

10 years and still going strong is there any compare to Neon genesis evangelion. If all anime were as good as this then gainex would be the only anime out there. I first saw this particular anime 7 years ago and have scince the watched the entire series seven times. I’m in love with the art the way that pain and suffering are expressed all the love to NEON GENESIS EVANGELION!!
