One of the PSP’s main limitations is the size of the currently available (or affordable) memory sticks. From what aims to be a fully-fledge media device, being limited to 2 or 4gbs (or only 1gb as many users have) isn’t good enough for a library of music and movies, only one of the two.
Another of the things people dislike about the PSP is the UMD format. There are few portable hard drives that are compatible with the PSP and allow you to exchange files in and out, however, there has never been an option that allowed you to do the same for games, until today.
Dark Alex has released a new beta ISO loader which enables you to run UMD files from a hard drive (or just USB flash disk), leaving plenty of space free in your limited memory sticks for other media.
So for the download, and instructions on how to do this, click on the “Visit Site” link below, and perhaps give your PSP a breath of fresh air.

1You actually cannot run direct from a hard drive or flash drive. The PSP is not a USB host, and most flash drives/usb hard drives aren’t either.
What this does is enable you to play an ISO through a USB connection to your computer. The instructions help you install a driver on your PC to get it going.

2Why don’t you guys host the files you talk about? Then maybe there would be more than 0-1 responses for each useless article.

3No source code! This would be really nice to port to, say, rockbox (homebrew mp3 player firmware), but I can’t without the source code.
