Indeed they shouldn’t, seeing how Apple blatantly copies from others (even back in the Xerox days), and has, for instance, copied Vista’s announced instant search features as soon as it turned out consumer response to those was positive.

That’s not the point. The point is that reading from flash disks is a lot faster than reading from harddisks, which means an improvement during swapping. This makes it possible to cheaply add some very fast-reaing cache memory to your machine.

Slightly off topic, I find it interesting that Apple can launch an interesting ad campaign about their bundled software and how you’re ‘not just buying an OS’, while Microsoft has been doing this for years, -and- is the only company getting sued and being branded a monopolist for it.

I’ve tried beta 1, and I was impressed–by their ability to invest so much time, manpower, funds, and produce so little. With many delays. While dropping key promised features. Without the whole department getting axed. It may sound like I’m bashing MS, but it’s the opposite: I’m jealous of their job security! At this point, I don’t even know if I’m being sarcastic myself.

The one thing I want from Windows is the ability to easily move all of my windows out of the way and interact with files on my desktop.

This is probably the most productive aspect of using my Mac.
