Intel unveiled today the benchmarks for their latest processor and ran them on identical machines against the rival AMD Athlon FX processor, both of them clocked at 2.6Ghz. And after running a Doom 3 demo on both machines, the Intel processor demonstrated a significant 25% increase in performance.
They also showed two graphics comparing the new processors to their Pentium 4 XE and in general the performance of the Core 2 Duo was around 50% higher than the first. Looks like Intel is finally shaping up their processors for gamers to seriously consider buying them.
