NBC is teaming up with YouTube, the video showcase website, to promote its new shows. It will create an official NBC Channel on YouTube to show clips from shows like “The Office”.
The NBC channel will also offer videos of programs such as “Saturday Night Live” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” over the next year.
I really like that slowly television broadcasting companies are getting into online distribution of their television shows, so NBC’s lackluster attempt at putting clips online in order to promote the shows is a little sad in my opinion. Throw on some classic episodes from years gone by that people would love to watch again, as well as a few new episodes here and there to remind us why we might want to catch the show on T.V.

1This, after NBC’s big gashick with “Lazy Sunday” being on YouTube.
Crazy skitzo executives…
But hooray for YouTube!

2Yeah, NBC also had a hissy fit over a SNL TV Funhouse episode being on You Tube (the Mickey Mouse one).
Still, this is a step in the right direction, so it’s probably best just to ignore their past actions.
Man, I love You Tube.
