Some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans over at The Technodrome have come across a boatload of rare TMNT Tournament Fighters booklet artwork, done by the artists at Konami in Japan. Supposedly, the booklet artowork was only released with the Japanese and European versions of the games. And, as you all my or may not remember, there were three versions of TMNT Tournament Fighters: Nintendo, Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. All of which contained a different set of playable characters.
The artwork they’ve happened upon is art for Michelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, Cyber Shredder, the Rat King, Karai, Chromedome, Wingnut, Armagon, War, Asuka and a nice group-shot. The art’s very sleek and may bring back some fond memories of the TMNT Archie comics, where many of the lesser-known characters were taken from.
