For a laptop, I would recommend an Intel chip, but I love my AMD Barton 2500+ in my computer.

Also, if you look at the desktop line, I think you’d be surprised at the heat Pentium 4’s put off…

I don’t know if the previous comment was meant as a joke, but I sort of share the same sentiment.

I’ve never felt too attracted to AMD processors, mostly because of experiences my friends had with them and things I witnessed myself from their early years.

I know they’ve improved a lot since then, and I don’t ignore them at all, but it seems that at the time I chose to buy a laptop, their processors were and still are far superior to AMDs, in terms of energy consumption and the heat it generates.
