Konami’s creator of Metal Gear, and one of the driving forces behind the Playstation 3, is not impressed by Nintendo’s Wii.

In an article found at Advanced Media Network, Hideo Kojima compared the upcoming PS3 to a Movie Theater, the Xbox 360 to a top-flight home theater, and finally, the Nintendo Wii to a television set which picks up local stations. He then went on to say that the Nintendo Wii had no place in the future of video gaming.

“If you think about the future of the industry and game creators, I get the feeling that the winner had better be the movie theater — or, the PS3. No one will say that the price is cheap. However, the PS3 is ‘the future.’ The Wii is interesting, but in terms of functions, it’s a machine with past concepts.”

While Kojima doesn’t seem too impressed with the competition, that didn’t keep him from licensing Solid Snake out to appear in Super Smash Bros Brawl for the Wii.
