Make this blogger happy and get the chance to win $5,000 in return. Umm, what’s the connection? Well, I’ve got this newfound love for Google Gadgets (I’ve practically uninstalled my Yahoo! Widgets Engine already), but I find the system still lacking in terms of the widget gadget-base. I’d make my own, but I’m not much of a developer (the last app I relased was this quaint little terminal emulation programme for my ancient PDA’s proprietary OS. And that was, like, eight years ago!).

I guess Google feels the same way, so to they’re giving Gadget developers the chance to win cash prizes from the Google Desktop Gadget contest (first prize: $5,000). Not bad for creating a simple, small applet.

The contest has just been extended by two weeks (what, not enough submissions?). It runs until August 14th, 2006.
