Anyone who has seen or remembers the Xerox Star (early 1980s) knows where the ideas for the MAC and Windows GUI came from. Jobs and Gates both raided Xerox PARC for talent. In the end Apple and Microsoft took a different approachs to technical and business issues in delivering a solution to the public. Remember Apple chose margins over market share, and maintained the highest margins in the business while steadily loosing market share.
