Usually when you buy a laptop you’re thinking more about the machine’s features, rather than the technical support you’ll get in case things go wrong with it. But being machines that you (usually) can’t open up and replace broken parts yourself, the technical assistance of the machine’s manufacturer can become your best friend, or your worst enemy, and someone finally decided to test them.
I was surprised to hear that Sony and HP weren’t the highest rated brands in support, because from what I hear from computer technicians in the island, HP is supposedly the best one of all. I can however speak a little about my experience with Sony’s tech support and say that even though they disappointed me in the tests they supposedly ran, everything worked out in the end, and the lady who took care of my case was extremely kind and comprehensive and left me very satisfied with their service.
As for the winners, the crown goes to Apple and Lenovo!
As for the worst cases go for Acer (no surprise here) and Toshiba, which I actually considered one of the best laptop companies in terms of quality.
