I have one, and here's what's wrong with it:

1. Griffin are Mac-centric idiots. They haven't updated the Windows drivers (which are buggy) for over a year.

2. If you leave your PC on all the time, enjoy your new nightlight. There's no options to shut down the LED after a time-out period.

3. I have to physically un and re attach the device on just about every boot, because it doesn't like hubs, powered or passive.

4. Changing USB ports means changing all the settings.

5. The driver can call only 1 external application. So, if you are planning on using this to launch apps, in Windows, you're out of luck.

I suppose if I had a Mac this might be more useful to me, but as it is, I could do without it. Its too unstable to use in an embedded (car) environment, the drivers aren't useful enough to really utilize it to its maximum potential, and Griffin's support for Windows users just plain sucks. They are Mac bigots, and deserve to be shunned by the 90% of the computer owning public. Until they update their drivers to fix these very easily resolvable issues, or at least, update the drivers just to so commitment to Windows users, stay away from this half-baked product.

Despite the fact that the system requirments do not list Linux as an option, some preliminary searching indicates a number of different solutions are available.

Here is one, with various others listed at the bottom of the page: http://www.eviloverlord.net/powermate.html

Note that I have not tried any of these myself. Can anyone offer any feed back on this?

I've got one as well. It's nice plugged into my iMac, with the short cord. I use it for volume control and in iMovie and iPhoto to scroll through photos/clips.

Haven't set it up to scroll webpages, though, that's a good idea.

Cheers.
