Now here’s something bizarre. Sanrio has released a line of Hello Kitty toys and other products blatantly inspired by the Paris Hilton “lifestyle”. Keychains, dolls, purses, that stupid chihuahua…it’s all there. Personally, I just don’t think the Hello Kitty line suits a…er…”human being” like Paris Hilton. The Bratz line of dolls and merchandise might have been more appropriate.
Anyhow, these things are selling in Japan and are bound to show up on American shores sooner or later. You have been warned.
South Park did a whole episode about that. It was pretty good, actually. All the elementary school girls were emulating the “stupid spoiled whore” fad and molesting boys. It was creepy yet thought-provoking.
