That’s deep but oh, so very true. My parents let me watch stuff from tv-g to tv-ma and I’m alright. I’m not some crack head, no smoker, or an asswipe in any way!

What I am saying is that kids need discipline and they will turn out alright. You need to show them manners, and let them know not to be rude. My parents raised me properly, and I have alot of appreciation for that. You need to do what you want to do, because you only get one chance in life, you need to live it to the fullest.

Brads right, all parents do are blame the popular things, instead, they need to stop spoiling their kids and start beating them. Besides, kids don’t smoke cause that infamous peer pressure bull crap, it’s cause kids these days like to experiment, Parents need to open their eyes and see that. It’s sad that kid shows can’t get away with even a small little adult joke incased with love from the writers. Parents pretty much ruin everything, and then they tell us that were the ones that are immature. I’m fifteen and I have watched from kid shows to Very adult rated stuff when I was a mere child myself and look how I turned out. I can type neatly, I am doing all right at school, no enemys, it’s all right to view things that are bad to children in some cases, you shouldn’t keep them on a leash forever. Know what I mean.

Eww.. Stupid politicians… Yeah, go censor things! That will be good right? Cuz it’s kids you know, “what about the children?” (some chic in simpsons use to say that..) Hey.. I used to watch alot of ‘violence’(you can’t really call a cat who got hit in the head by a mouse, violence.. That’s a bit ruff..) when i was.. younger.. And im NOT a violent person! (”Whant a piece of me, huh? WANNA FIGHT?!”) So.. where was i.. Yeah, im NOT violent, ok, sure i do Karate.. But hey! Jackie Chan do martial arts to and HES not violent! (Right?) Ok.. I got a bit offtrack now, what im saying is, people might take decisions (like doing karate) later in life but that has NOTHING to do with animated cats ‘n mouse’s… And also, when you see a animated dog, smoking, you don’t really think its cool, do you? I mean, sure, it WAS cool when they smoked in the cowboy movies.. But.. This is diffrent, know what im saying? Smoking dogs is NOT cool.

I think it’s a little silly. If those cartoons make kids smoke, then McDonald’s makes kids fat, rap music makes people violent and Dan Rather made people shoddy journalists.

I don’t smoke and I have every Tom & Jerry cartoon ever made. If you want to contend I am smarter than every person in England … yeah, I buy that.

I remember when they went back and editted nearly all the original William Hanna and Joseph Barbara-directed episodes of Tom & Jerry to redub over the voice of “The Mammy” because she sounded too “stereotypically black”. Now she just sounds like Aretha Franklin.

Smoking is taking things a bit too far. They’re already editting and banning cartoons for racial content, sexual content and even violence (Bugs & Tweety Show butchered their cartoons). In about ten years there won’t be any classic cartoons left for kids to watch!

Actually, they are not. And if you want to point blame in any direction you can point it toward soft parents who can’t oversee there own children. Its more popular these days to just assume that “society” needs to help raise your children. I really wish people would start holding themselves accountable for there actions.

Look at the kids in this generation! They’re all corrupted by tv shows like The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park.

Don’t get me wrong, these shows are great but they’re just not suitable for 10 year olds.

Yeah, this is kind of a crappy thing to do. Let’s paint the death camps out of the WWII videos too, while we’re at it, because someone might be pissed off about those.

I smoked for awhile, largely because I’m a little stupid, but I don’t do it anymore. As much as I’d like to paint that out of my history, it’s part of who I am, just as smoking is part of who we were as a nation.

geez, what’s next? no more kisses in cartoons, no more running in cartoons, cartoons are the ones corrupting our youth’s minds.
get real!
if you want to ban something, start with the news – there is your corruption.
start with educating people, they are all over the place, doing things kids are not supposed to see.
and if you want your kids not to start smoking, educate them about the risks involved in smoking, don’t cut cartoons.
they see smoking in the streets every day, in their own home, that’s where they get their examples from, not cartoons.
and for the record, i’m a smoker, and i ‘got it’ from my antourage, not cartoons (and it happens i quite like it)
