What happened to Smallville? I was so addicted to the first 4 seasons. It drew me in. The character development and growth were outstanding. The actors’ skills improved year after year. Most importantly, it was about Clarke Kent, which is what Smallville is supposed to be about. Clark Kent, maturing and becoming Superman. You guys did a fabulous job evolving Clarke from shy farm boy, through growing up, discovering his powers, going to the dark side, coming out the other. We saw him hate his abilities, then lose them , then regain them and finally accept and appreciate them. We were so ready for him to become Superman. He finally appreciates Jorel, his father is gone. It’s time! Move him to the big city, or fast forward or something. We hardly ever see him. And now his storyline of becoming Superman has lost its momentum. We are so tired of the farm boy thing. He has come farther than that. The storylines now all focus around Lex and Lana and it gets boring. Lana has become a bitch and hard and we see no reason why Clarke should still admire her. You did a wonderful job with Lex from good to evil. It was real and timed perfectly and we saw the events that led to it. But now, it is all about evil. The one thing I miss the most is the humor. There is no sense of fun anymore. God forbid a fun storyline. All doom and gloom and dark. The same thing happened to the Buffy series. The show is a real downer, but again, more importantly, we don’t care anymore. By the time he does become Superman, we will have forgotten about all the past years and trials and tribulations he went through when we were all rooting for him. His character is one note now. Lastly, please give Lois some redeeming qualities and vulnerability, especially with Clarke, soon. Otherwise we will never believe that she becomes the true love of his life. I disagree.
