techtvlogo.jpgTechTV alumni Leo Laporte and Chris Pirillo are planning to bring back TechTV as UndoTV. They’re apparently adopting DIGG’s user-owned/contributed content model.

Two former show hosts at the defunct cable and satellite channel, Chris Pirillo and Leo Laporte, recently floated the idea of a TechTV Reunion that would let alumni of the popular (to geeks anyway) station post new video clips at a centralized location. The idea drew raves on the popular web news site Digg, launched by TechTV alum Kevin Rose.

Looks like the old TechTV gang is taking their TWiT initiative to a higher level. They already have loads of original content published and hosted on the TWiT site, including various spinoffs of their original This Week in Tech podcast (branching out into different themes such as security, media, gadgets and biotech, among others).

Why “UndoTV”?

“We’re undoing TechTV’s untimely and unwarranted demise,” Pirillo wrote in an e-mail to Wired News.

With Laporte’s knack at bringing people together, Pirillo’s marketing savvy (”Rent my chest!,” the Rev3’s crew’s Web-based multimedia expertise, and Dvorak’s usual snark and cynicism, this would be one heck of a media outfit!
