C.O.P.S. Season 1 DVD: Review

Anybody remember this show? Well, I sure do, and I got the box set to prove it. A bit on the quality-challenged side, I must confess, but if you enjoyed the show back in 1990 then you might want to check it out. Read my full review, Right Here! COPS was an animated series produced by DiC for the purpose of selling a new Hasbro toyline. But hey, what cartoons in the 80’s and 90’s weren’t made to sell toys? COPS was, in a way, Hasbro’s successor to G.I. Joe (which was waning in popularity by the 90’s), featuring similar characters, trite public service announcements (“COPS for Kids”) and some Read more »

Robert Downey Jr. says: "I. Am. IRON MAN!"

Ain’t It Cool News brings to us some more progress on the upcoming big-budget Iron Man movie (based off the Marvel Comics, for those of you who don’t follow). According to them, billionare alchoholic, Tony Stark (Iron Man), will be played by Robert Downey Jr. Not a bad choice, in my honest opinion. Also, for those of you who haven’t been following the Iron Man movie, the lead villain is set to be the Mandarin. It’s gonna take a whole lot of Hollywood magic to make that guy a threat. Good luck with that! Read more »

How to increase the security of your Windows XP Password

Today I decided to check out some thebroken video blog episodes, which is co-hosted by Digg.com’s own Kevin Rose. Besides finding the interview with hacker Kevin Mitnick about his life and his days in prison interesting I also discovered a method that hackers can use to crack your Windows XP password and gain access to all your files. Personally, I don’t have that many files that I’d like to keep hidden and away from hackers, but if you work in a computer company which holds the personal data of various customers, increasing the level of security in your system might be crucial. As thebroken’s episode 3 explains, cracking a Windows Read more »

Sony Releases new and colorful Vaio N Series

Sony Releases new and colorful Vaio N Series

The Nipponic giant Sony announced just a couple of days ago their most recent for their semi-popular Vaio notebooks. In terms of looks I have to say that these laptops stand somewhere between an Apple Macbook and the new iPod Minis (oops, I meant to say iPod Nanos) in terms of design and colors. Like Apple, the low end models will be available in all the colors for a starting price of $1,350 and the top model will be available in Black only and will come with a 256MB NVidia Geforce Go 7700. Even though the lack of a decent graphics card in the low-end models might disappoint some people, Read more »

3D Naruto Fighting Game Coming to the DS

3D Naruto Fighting Game Coming to the DS

Naruto fans everywhere should rejoyce! Well, at least in Japan. After various 2D Action and Platform games for the GBA, it appears that you will soon be able to take control of your favorite colorful ninjas and battle in out in true 3D. The graphics look fairly impressive for a Nintendo DS game, and it will come out in the final quarter of the current year, however, there is still no date set for a US or even European release, but I guess it’s pretty safe to say that it will make it there soon enough. The Super Mario Bros. Super Show vol. 1: Review

I may be a little late with my review of this DVD box set, but on the off chance some of you have yet to check it out, you might want to save your time and money. Check out my full review, Right Here! Although it pains me to say this, the Super Mario Bros Super Show is one cartoon best left remembered than revisited. A lot of the times you’ll remember loving a cartoon as a kid and thinking its still “awesome”, but then when you check it out ten years later
not so much. Read more »

Full Metal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shambala – Review

Finally got around to picking this movie up (even though I had already seen it) and penned the review. If you’ve seen the TV series then there’s no excuse for you not to check this movie out. It’s simply amazing. Read my full review, Right Here! I first saw this movie in a theater in Kyoto’s Purple Dragon shopping center in August of 2005. My Japanese is pretty good, so that wasn’t the problem. The problem was that I’d never seen a single episode of the television series prior to paying $18 bucks to see this movie (tickets are crazy-expensive in Japan), so I had no clue just what the Read more »

Zune Pricing Announced

Zune Pricing Announced

Microsoft’s “iPod Killer”, the Zune, will retail for $249.99, while songs for the device will cost about $.99 each. At this price, it sounds like Microsoft could take a loss on each unit sold, similar to what it did with the XBox 360. Microsoft said it needed to put a comparable price on Zune, even if it meant that the company will suffer a loss from the device’s sales this holiday season. Read more »
