They call it (for the moment) iTV and it will distribute the contents of iTunes and the media on your mac around your home - to your tv etc etc. There will be other similar solutions - but Apple has a hppy knack of making these things work seamlessly. Many people are keen to pay so they dont have to swear at their gizmos or replace them every two years. I think the Apple response to why buy something only available on portable machines through iTunes is coming.

Your average TV displays VGA resolution, the same as a DVD I believe. The iTunes movies are VGA resolution also. So besides the copying protection, I don't see many other disadvantages on buying the movies. Of course, the copying protection is a big downside, but then again, you're getting a movie from the comfort of your chair (or sofa) that you can watch unlimited times, so I guess you're paying a bit extra for that. If you have a dvd (and the know-how to shrink it down) is there a risk of copyright infringement if you put that on your ipod?
