Many ISP’s have been shaping network traffic to slow down your BitTorrent downloads, to keep their traffic levels at a manageable levels, but many BitTorrent clients have aleady found a way around this by encrypting the traffic, making the ISP’s deal with BitTorrent traffic eating up 40-50 percent of the ISP’s bandwidth.

NetEnforcer now uses what Allot calls deep packet inspection technology, which they say lets ISPs “identify and analyze hundreds of applications and protocols, track subscriber behavior, prioritize traffic and shape traffic flows.” Oh, and decrypt the packets to check for BitTorrent traffic.

Now we will have to wait for the BitTorrent addicts to come up with something better to stop NetEnforcer from knowing what we are up to, while we download our favourite IPTV shows.
