If I remember correctly, pioneer is firmly on board with HD-DVD. That said, as soon as we start seeing lesser known brands making the drives, pioneer, sony and everyone else will jump on the bandwagon claiming they had no choice if they wanted to remain competitive. It's all about honoring their committments to whcihever side they offered allegiance to (or at least appearing to do so until the end). They just don’t want to be the first to do it.
