The Sonic the Hedgehog animated series which ran for two seasons on ABC saturday mornings (hence the “SatAM” tag used by the fandom) will be arriving on DVD at long last come early 2007. For those who don’t remember well-enough, this was the Sonic the Hedgehog animated series which borrowed the storyline of the Archie Comics, in which Sonic lead a troop of Freedom Fighters against the forces of the evil Dr. Robotnik. It was darker than the other Sonic cartoons of the time (like the kid-friendly Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog) and had a very popular cast of characters including the Southern Belle cyborg, Bunnie Rabbot, the gizmo wiz, Rotor Walrus, the cowardly Frenchman, Antoine, and the fiesty squirrel, Princess Sally.
The news was first leaked over at Sonic SatAM’s Official Forum where a representative of DiC’s “Shout Factory” release studio chimed in with quite a bit to say. The bonus feature-front is looking pretty promising.
So get ready in early 2007, because the good Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon is *finally* coming to DVD!

Is this the series that had the ballad for the opening credits that was awesome?
I can still hum it to this day!
Do you mean this one?
Cuz that is an *awesome* theme song.
And if so, then yeah, that’d be the one.
That’s the one! Love that intro =D
Back to Okami…
I only like the Disney’s version of Sonic. The other ones looked ugly.
Disney Sonic?
Sally was a squirrel/chipmunk mix because of her parents.
