The Nipponic giant Sony announced just a couple of days ago their most recent for their semi-popular Vaio notebooks.

In terms of looks I have to say that these laptops stand somewhere between an Apple Macbook and the new iPod Minis (oops, I meant to say iPod Nanos) in terms of design and colors.

Like Apple, the low end models will be available in all the colors for a starting price of $1,350 and the top model will be available in Black only and will come with a 256MB NVidia Geforce Go 7700.

Even though the lack of a decent graphics card in the low-end models might disappoint some people, the rest of the specifications aren’t too shabby if I do say so myself.

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5500
1GB of RAM PC2-4200
120GB (5400rpm) Sata HDD
DVD/CD Reader Burner
WXGA LCD Screen with a 1280×800 resolution
Multimedia Card Reader that supports the most common camera flash cards

For me the only downfalls of this product is the relatively low duration of the battery (from 3 to 4.5 hours), and having a Windows XP Media Center edition instead of a normal XP distro.

These laptops will be available starting next month (October) in SonyStyle.com.
