I still don’t know which version of the OS I’ll be getting, their site doesn’t give much information about what you’ll get and won’t be able to get. All I know is that Vista Ultimate features everything, and Vista Home Basic features the least features. The other versions I guess fall somewhere in between these two.

The prices below refer to the full and update versions respectively:

  • Windows Vista Home Basic, $199/$99.95
  • Windows Vista Home Premium, $239/$159
  • Windows Vista Business, $299/$199
  • Windows Vista Ultimate, $399/$259

In my opinion, if Microsoft is having enough problem as it is to release one version of the new OS they should stick to one model only (or maybe two, one for enterprises) instead making so many different versions.

It’s hard enough as it is in the computer market to purchase a computer that fits your technological needs *and* has Windows XP Pro. With Vista, I can only guess the situation will become worse, unless more computer manufacturers start giving the users better options when it comes to the OS the machine has.
