As expected, Apple announced today the update to their popular MacBook Pro laptops that features the new Intel Core 2 Duo Processors. Apple claims that they are up to 39% faster than before. The graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 and the two new processors for the 15″ and 17″ are…

2.16GHz or 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4MB on-chip shared L2 cache running 1:1 with processor speed

… for the 15″ model, and the later processor (2.33Ghz) for the 17″ one.

Even though I find the 17″ model more appealing, I think that it is too big of a size for a laptop, therefore I’d probably go for the 15″ one, or the even smaller MacBook. If you were undecided whether you’d upgrade your Mac or change to a Mac this Christmas then you can be assured that if you buy one of these two you’ll be getting an updated great machine that will serve you for many years to come.*
