I don’t think diggers are against blogs, but they are against using digg to promote blogs. Most of the time when digg users label something as “blog spam” it is because the blogger simply linked to another story, and then submitted a link to their blog as news. This is a cheap way to get page views. If the blogger actually posts interesting content rather than saying “Wow! isn’t this neat?” it will rarely be called spam.

I think, that at this day and age, Slashdot is more like the grandmother of all blogs… but with a face job (it’s recent “re-design”).

When blogs get dugg, I see a lot of anti-blog comments on that article. What they don’t realize is that Digg is also a kind of blog.

And Slashdot is kind of the mother of all blogs.

I don’t think Diggers have, as a whole, any bias against blogs. Lots of blogs make it to the front-page. I think the general consensus against blog-spam is what you’ve already pointed out: “Many bloggers simply post links to things that interest them, without adding much content nor value to the discussion.”

Take a look at yesterday’s top diggs. Out of the top 15 stories, I count 8 blogs.
