Michelin, one of the better known tire brands, have introduced a new type of tire that will soon be available commercially. If this ever comes into practice, you can kiss goodbye to all the air pumps in the gas stations, and those enjoyable flicks of men picking up girls stuck with flat tires in the middle of nowhere.

The information I found regarding the Tweels was that the announcement of this type of tire came in January of 2005. However, since a year has gone by an almost no one remembers it anymore they probably thought it was safe to blog it again and obtain many visits.
Regardless of that fact, the concept of Tweels is a very innovative one, and will help close the gap between tires, wheels and even help in the suspension of your car, as shown:

1If it’s as good as they say, then such a wheel would be most welcome, especially on cars. But folks are stupid and, even if it is superior, it’s not the prettiest thing in the world and it will might be forgotten in a few years.

2I guess you’re right, those rappers from Mtv Cribs would probably get all depressed if they couldn’t put more shinny metal in their wheels than some bank vaults have.
