Have you actually tried the Stardock app? Their approach is similar to Desktopia, basically ‘just’ set of wallpapers with an auto-change tool.

I would love this app. I’m not senior enough to warrant a window and would actually have to walk pretty far to get one. I use the weather widgets quite a bit. :)
