It's supposed to be basic journalism. What appalled me about this issue -- aside from the extent of religious intolerance and gullibility it exposed -- was that so many people were writing about it without having verified if that "Muslim website" MEMRI cited even existed. Aye. I sometimes have trouble publishing posts because of difficulty in verification. I know blogs are supposed to be more free-flowing. I have come across cross-references between various blogs when doing searches to check the veracity of the facts. I usually give up writing the articles because of that. After one blog acknowledges the other blog's article as true, the information spreads like a huge web. If the original source happens to be a lie, so do all others.
