He stated that Japanese horror seems to be more "subtle" than American horror and I can only assume he means movies like Friday the 13th and the Texas Chainsaw massacre because I have seen more subtlety in other horror movies than in this one. That being said, I found this sequel better than the first one. Maybe it was the way the three stories wove together. Maybe it was that the acting just seemed better, or maybe it was my mood on the day I viewed the movie. I just liked it more. But I too am getting a little tired of long haired dead contortionists who are the scary ghosts in these movies.
