CNet has released a videocast naming the top 5 biggest .com flops ever.

Like I said, it’s a videocast, so if your internet access point has a low bandwidth at least you get to know which were the flops and why:

  1. WebVan – Trying to sell groceries online across America with no business experience and establish in 18 months…
  2. Pets.com – Apparently they invested tons of money in publicity however they were unable to make proffit.
  3. Kozmo.com – They had people in bikes and bicycles delivering videos, sandwiches to your doorstep.
  4. Flooz – Create your online currency and have Woopie Goldberg promote it (do I need to say why this failed?)
  5. eToys.com – Their stocks dropped from 84$ to 0.09$ in 16 months

With the current Web 2.0 bubble expanding, newcomers to the bubble should take these past examples as advice of future errors they shouldn’t make.
