Looks like Sony is lighting the first signaling flares regarding grey importers. Mitra Pahlabod of the Davenport Lyons says (regarding the importers):
âThey run the real risk of defending lengthy and costly trademark infringement proceedings,â Pahlabod stated. âIt is up to the grey importer to prove that consent to resell the goods in Europe has been given by the trademark owner.â
It looks like the tides are turning for Sony, Microsoft seems to be slowly winning people over, and Nintendo seems to be more popular with each passing day. Quite frankly, I hope that they pickup the pace and get their act together.
This Christmas’ batch of Next-Gen titles is quite disappointing in terms of ratings (though there are a few exceptions), and the XBox 360’s sales are below expectations, so it’s still anyone’s game really. Right now, I’m not sure about which manufacturer should be worried. But if things go as well as I hope they will, it’s going to be a very exciting generation for gaming.
