It seems like the Wii is also gaining a lot of momentum on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, since they’ve just beaten the previous console sales record established by the XBox 360:
Nintendo has reported sales of 105,000 Wiis over the weekend, smashing the record of 70,000 set by the Xbox 360.
Even though it’s off to a great start, the majority of the first batch of games aren’t ranking very well on any games site, but there are some very promising titles arriving next year. The question is, will Mario and Metroid be enough to keep fans happy, while other console owners will be getting Halo 3 and Gran Turismo 3.
But on the other hand, since the console got off really well, it may very well seduce the developers into developing more, or better games for it. Regardless of what happens during the next year or two, I’m happy I bought my Wii right now. It’s providing me with great fun for me, my family and acquaintances, like no other console ever did.

1I really hate to say this but DragonBallZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is really really fun with the WiiMote(tm). If you ever watched the show this game is well made and almost ridiculously nostalgic. Doing the actual hand motion to pull off a Kamehameha wave is nerdgasmic(tm).
