Flickr, which is arguably the most popular photo sharing site around recently announced that from March 15th onwards, all users will need to use a Yahoo! ID in order to login to their Flickr accounts thus putting the final strike on the merger between itself and Yahoo! As if that wasn’t bad enough, they now decided to limit the number of contacts you may have on your list to 3000, and the number of tags you can add to your pictures to 75. Ok, so the last limitation is understandable, but limiting your contacts to 3000 when there are so many different ways: Groups/Friends/Family to get them is a bit Read more »

Workaround for clean installation of Vista Upgrade versions
Despite Microsoft’s efforts to alienate it’s customers, it seems that they somehow left a loophole open that allows users to use an upgrade edition Windows Vista as full retail copy. The catch? You have to install Vista twice. Boot from the Windows Vista Upgrade DVD and start the setup program. When prompted to enter your product key, DO NOT enter it. Click “Next” and proceed with setup. This will install Windows Vista as a 30-day trial. When prompted, select the edition of Vista which you have purchased and continue with setup. Once setup has been completed and you have been brought to the desktop for the first time, run the Read more »
How to distinguish the old 2nd Gen Shuffle from the new one
When the Second Generation iPod Shuffle was announced, one of the things that disappointed people about it was that it didn’t come with the new and improved headphones of the original iPod, or even the Nano’s. Thankfully, the newly released colored Shuffles do come with these new headphones, but the question is, how do you distinguish the old gray iPod Shuffle with the old headphones, from the new one with the improved headphones? So if the fear of grabbing some “old” headphones by mistake was keeping you from buying the iPod Shuffle you can now rest assured. Read more »

Vista Upgrade invalidates your Windows XP key
As if the Vista Upgrade version wasn’t bad enough already, compared to previous Windows Upgrades, now a blogger named (or known as) Blair is reporting that the Windows XP will become invalid which then prevents you from ever using Windows XP again. Here’s a quote from Microsoft’s Vista EULA: 13. UPGRADES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligiblefor the upgrade. Upon upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software you upgraded from. After you upgrade, you may no longer use the software you upgraded from. Do they really want consumers to upgrade, or are they just trying to Read more »
AVD-HARA your headphone's best friend
How many times have you had to unwind your headphone cables? Yeah, I lost count too… I know that some headphones come with special cases, but those are usually big and cumbersome. Thankfully the clever designers at Elecom have made what I believe to be one of the best solutions I have ever seen for this problem. Like the “new” iPod Shuffle this nice add-on also comes in different flavors colors. Now if only my Japanese was better… Read more »
Motorola MAXX Ve in the wild
Yes folks, Motorola is releasing yet another RAZR evil-twin with a 2 Megapixel camera with Autofocus, MP3 controls on the outside and the usual sexiness that the RAZR oozes. This model will apparently be a Verison exclusive in the States and I doubt it will leave the country, at least in this variation. Although it’s no iPhone it will at least fit in your pocket, and hopefully it won’t burn a whole in your wallet (hey that rhymed!). Via Gizmodo Read more »
iPod Shuffle – now in colors
The iPod has always been about style and music, but usually you have to pick between one of the two. But now, Apple has made your choice easier (or should I say harder?) by introducing brand new colors for it’s very popular screen’less iPod, the Shuffle. Besides taking new colors, the new Shuffle also comes with the new headphones that were featured a while back. So basically now there are 5 less excuses for you not to get an iPod. Read more »
Buy yourself the complete NES collection
If you’re a die-hard fan of Nintendo and the golden 8-bit era, then you might be interested to hear that someone is selling a NES complete with almost every single game ever made for it! Behold the wonder that is the NES collection: The clever seller of this collection apparently bought many of these through eBay itself for $1 or less each, therefore, he’s probably making a huge profit out of this. But I guess that for all his trouble it’s worth it, and it’s definitely cheaper to buy this collection than to get them all on the Wii’s Virtual Console, so it’s a win-win situation for both sides I Read more »
Vista Upgrade Version requires XP or 2000 installed to install
If you are planning on buying an upgrade version of Windows Vista tomorrow then you should first realize that if you buy an upgrade version, it will require an already installed version of Windows 2000 or XP to proceed. Although the installation does allow users to backup the already installed Operative System to then make a “Clean Installation”, this measure makes you have to install Windows “twice” in order to get it running “properly”. I guess that the idea that backs up this measure is that if you don’t own a legitimate version of Windows XP/2000, you won’t be able to acquire Windows Vista for a “discount” price. But instead Read more »
