For those of you who were lucky rich enough to be able to purchase a Playstation 3 but were disappointed with the small capacity of it’s Hard Drive (compared to today’s standards) then this mod is for you.
Someone put together a tutorial to put any 3.5″ HDD in it and also a USB hub, for those of you that need to connect more than 4 gadgets at the same time.
There are however some problems in doing this mod. First of all, you’ll have to open up your PS3, which will void it’s warranty. Since the console is still new, and the hardware hasn’t been confirmed as reliable yet, I don’t recommend it. Secondly, this mod requires that you keep and use the external enclosure of the Hard Drive because the PS3 doesn’t have enough power for a higher capacity hard drive.

1To the author of this article…Do a little research before writing anything.
Sony made the PS3 to have the ability to upgrade the internal hard drive. It will not void the warantee to change the drive since there is simple compartment that you open the remove one screw to release the drive. Sony themselves provide instruction on how to do this.
