If you are planning on buying an upgrade version of Windows Vista tomorrow then you should first realize that if you buy an upgrade version, it will require an already installed version of Windows 2000 or XP to proceed.

Although the installation does allow users to backup the already installed Operative System to then make a “Clean Installation”, this measure makes you have to install Windows “twice” in order to get it running “properly”.

I guess that the idea that backs up this measure is that if you don’t own a legitimate version of Windows XP/2000, you won’t be able to acquire Windows Vista for a “discount” price. But instead of only harming the illegitimate users, this measure upsets everyone who chooses to purchase one of those Upgrade versions.
