The latest version of the popular Open-Source RSS/XML aggregator/reader has just been released. Although it’s not as “exciting” as the last release which featured the Enclosure browser, this one fixes some bugs and adds some small features:
- Added experimental duplicate article grouping (autoduplicatediscovery=1 and maxdistance=?? if fine tuning is needed)
- Inline article tagging (press “t” while article is active). There’s also possibility to tag multiple selected articles at the same time
- Now it’s possible to copy multiple selected articles to clipboard. Save them to document or send to a friend at once.
- Starring/flagging article can be done from webview.
- Localized news packages available
I’m a FeedReader user and I’m happy that they’re finally starting to address the duplicate article problem which sometimes occurs when you refresh certain feeds.

1FeedReader 3.x is not Open Source. The FeedReader site sez “We also offer an older version, which is available as an opensource package, for users who wish to modify the source code” — but I’m actually not finding that anywhere…
