The BBC reported earlier this week that British actress Michelle Ryan has been cast as cyborg/tennis pro (yes, you read that right) Jaime Summers in NBC’s proposed re-imagining of “The Bionic Woman.”
Michelle (22) most recently appeared in the British Romantic comedy Cashback, and will soon be on ITV co-starring with Billie Piper (of Doctor Who fame) in Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park.
The original Bionic Woman was played by Linsdey Wagner, and began in 1976. In the series, which was a spin off from the Six Million Dollar Man, the character had Bionic limbs that gave her super speed and strength, and a bionic ear that gave her super hearing powers.
I’m pretty sure the new series will bare little resemblance to the original.
