Itâs hard to put into words how diabolically atrocious this Eddie Murphy âcomedyâ really is, but I get the feeling most of you reading this came to the same conclusions about its quality after watching the 30 second television spot. Let me tell you, if it wasnât my job to review movies, I wouldnât have poked this thing with a stick just to see if it were still alive.

What you talking ’bout? Norbit was hella’ funny.
On a scale of 1 to 10 “Norbit” gets MINUS 10 ! It is soo9ooo BAD ! And that is obvious from the first 10 minutes ! I walked out in 45 minutes , I tried sooo hard to give it a chance ,

Maybe that’s your opinion but I have always appreciated Eddie Murphy’s work. Except for Vampires in Brooklyn.
I give it a one out of ten. It was really bad. I laughed most when grown up Norbit got locked in the basement and talked under his breath like some little kid. The film has no back bone and the ending was more than predictable.

I’ve seen all of his movies.. this is one of my favorites. I was dying the whole time. Everyone brings the attention on his characters.. no one ever says anything about how hilarious the pimp characters were. holy lord

in a market already flooded with comedy, much of it we’ve seen somewhere before…it’s hard to be origional. But even though the storyline was cute, some of the acting weak, it was’nt all that bad to me – especially since I got it for free off the internet, lol.

I felt duped out of my money. This was absolutely the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. Oh why did I not just walk out? Because I’ve never walked out of a movie before – that’s how bad it was. There was black humor, racist humor, sexist humor and then very ‘black’ humor. Who is Eddie Murphy laughing with or at? Who is the target market for this film, really? I really don’t get it? Is it for the white, to laugh at black? Is it for the black community to laugh at some aspect of their culture? Does the target market really want to be portrayed like this? Is it really that funny to talk about “bitches” and “whores” and “pimps” and “titty bars” all the time? Do we really need to see ugly characters and ugly personalities disrespecting each other everywhere we look and listen in all forms of our media? And do we then need to think its funny?
Come on people; in this world of violence and unkindness let’s please show the world what good we are capable of. Do we have to perpetuate to the world what utter crap we can produce as well? I think there should be a class action suit against the makers of this film. I want my $33 back! Shame on Thandie Newton and Cuba Gooding Junior to be involved with this. Shame on Eddie Murphy to use the success of previous slap stick films to draw in the crowds to see this insult to intelligence, humor and humanity!!
