At this point, I don’t think anyone has any doubts about the iPhone’s impact in the industry, but if someone still doubts that, then this might make you think again.
Samsung has announced the F700 Ultra series phone, with a QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen and a design which is a blatant ripoff of Apple’s recently announced iPhone.

Although the resemblance is undeniable, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it means that Samsung is paying attention to what the customers want:
âThe introduction of our Ultra Smart F700 reflects the needs of todayâs consumers by including features such as touch screen, enhanced connectivity to mobile internet, and access to an array of multimedia content,â
The features are too many to enumerate but I’ll name the main ones: HTML browser, 5 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, 2.78″ Touchscreen Display.
Even if you don’t like Apple, or their upcoming cellphone, you should thank them for giving the cellphone manufacturers a, much needed, wake up call.

1It looks way better than the so called “revolutionary” iPhone.

2I don’t think it’s a “blatant ripoff” of the iphone primarily because of how fast it came out. Even if you’re trying to copy something, there’s simply no way you can get a prototype out in a month unless you copy it exactly and have the blueprint right in front of you. In this case, there are certainly enough differences both in hardware and software to infer many months (or even years) of preparation. The fact that the design is a rounded rectangle with a large screen may just be a coincidence.
