Sony has introduced today in Japan 2 new types of headsets.

The high range ones (pictured below) which are named MDR-Q68LW weigh 43g, are available in 6 colors. They have a button to recoil the cable, which is nice for those of us that have problems with entangled headset cables. According to the source this headset “outputs 108dB/mW (on a range of 16Hz to 24kHz at 24Ω)“.

The lighter models, the MDR-Q38LW, weigh 38g, but also have a weaker output: “104dB/mW (on a range of 20Hz to 24kHz at 24Ω).” Their physical appearance is almost exactly the same as the high end model, and the only differences are that they only have 1 button to recoil the cable and the colors are different.

I’m actually in the market for some new headphones that won’t fall off my ears when I’m running, and since my last “sport” headphones lasted quite long and had very decent sound quality I may be purchasing one of these soon enough.
