Even though Windows Mobile 6 has just been announced, there are already some people “playing” with it, and despite the Vista “cosmetic surgery”, there seems to be more beneath the eye. In fact, it seems that all of the applications are now more usable and faster than ever, and the review was able to open and edit all files with very little or no alterations done to them.

Without any conversion I was able to open up a PowerPoint presentation, Word doc, and an Excel sheet, navigate around, and even make changes to the files. They’re perfect for proofing and even editing, and they don’t lose any of the formatting. (…) I used to go back and forth between Opera and IE because I found IE slow the majority of time. I now use IE Mobile without thinking twice, which says a lot for the improvements.

It seems like this version gives the iPhone’s OS a run for it’s money in terms of file compatibility, but will that be enough to steal the crown from the iPhone’s media and internet capabilities?
