If you’re a blogger, or any kind of website owner, the uptime of your website is probably the most important thing in your site’s life. I mean, seriously, how many times do you give a site a second chance when you visit and it’s dead?

That’s what I thought.

Anyway, that’s why I think this new service from Blogflux is so darn cool. (BTW – Blogflux is owned by the same folks that own the Bloggy Network)

It’s called Uptime Tracker, and it does exactly what you would expect something called that to do…it tracks the uptime of your site. Every single host that you see out there can promise 99.9% uptime…but that’s a completely worthless statement without some cold hard stats to back it up. With this free tool from Blogflux, it will check your site every hour using 23 different servers from around the world to ensure that you’re site is up everywhere. Then it will give you a report on the past week, month, quarter, year, and lifetime of your site’s uptime.

It’s a clear, unbiased, way to make sure you’re getting what you pay for from your webhost.

Blogflux also has an excellent webhost directory that can help you find a new host if you discover that yours isn’t giving you that 99.9% uptime you were guaranteed.
