Even though it was only yesterday that I told you about some Apple TV hacks, today I bring you an even more ambitious hack that allows you to boot the Apple TV Operative System from your very own Macbook (I haven’t read a confirmation on whether this works on any Intel Mac or not, but at first glance I don’t see any reason why it shouldn’t).
You can synch it to iTunes on other devices, just like with the Apple TV. The only limitation I see with this is the Mini-DVI port the Macbook has, unlike the Apple TV which has Component Cable and HDMI outputs to start with.
The best thing about this hack is that it allows you to use the software on many more devices, and with much more flexibility than you would with the ordinary Apple TV device. Installing this on a Macbook allows you to get the best of both worlds: one of the best Operating Systems and an excellent portable Media Center.
