Doctor Who is one of my favorite sci-fi series of all time. I love the concept behind the Doctor, and have been really enjoying the new incarnation of the series as it has hit the United States here on the Sci-Fi Channel. Very soon, the 3rd Series (they call them series across the pond instead of seasons for those of you that don’t know) of Doctor Who will begin airing on the BBC…and at a special preview screening of the first two episodes of season three on March 21 in London, executive producer Russell T. Davies said that he has known about the renewal for a while, but hasn’t been allowed to comment on it until now. “Series four is officially existing,” Davies told BBC News. “I’m very excited, but we have known for ages.” This news comes to us from theSci-Fi Wire.
I think this is fantastic news. Of course, speculation begins immediately about whether or not David Tennat, the current Doctor (and my favorite Doctor of all time, thus far) will continue with the show into that 4th series. I certainly hope so, but so far there has been nothing to indicate that he won’t.
